Use Markups to save important spots, plan your route to the field, measure distances, or track and retrace your steps in the field—all without any cell service.
You can edit, share, delete, or export any Markups you create in the My Content menu from your mobile device and computer.
Click or tap a topic to learn more.
Waypoints
Mark specific spots—exactly where you need them.
Save a waypoint anywhere by clicking or tapping on your map and selecting Add Waypoint at the bottom of the info card.
You can also access the Add Waypoint and Mark my Location features from the Tools menu.
- Add Waypoint: drop a waypoint at the center of your screen—turn the crosshair indicator on in your app settings to fine-tune your placement.
- Mark Location: immediately drop and save a Waypoint at your current location.
Use custom icons and colors to group Markups by trip, season, species, etc.
Tracker
Use the Tracker tool to record your steps in real time.
- Tap Tracker from the bottom toolbar and hit Start.
The App will draw your path as you move. While you're recording, don't close the App (minimizing it is fine). Tap Pause if you want to stop recording temporarily.
Save it for future reference.
- Tap Stop > Save.
If Save is unavailable, you haven't moved far enough to record a distance.
Route Builder
Elite onX Hunt Membership required.
Plan your path before you go.
Create a Route by tapping the Tools icon and selecting Build Route.
- Add points that snap to roads and trails with Snap To selected.
- Switch to Point Draw if you have issues with the route "snapping" to a given road or trail.
To follow a Route, tap the location button in the App twice to view a directional indicator.
Lines and Area Shapes
Measure a distance or area.
- Select Line or Area Shape from the Tools menu.
- Tap on the map to drop points, or use "Drop Point" to precisely place a waypoint with a crosshair indicator.
Lines
Drop two or more points to measure the distance between them. Distance is calculated point-to-point ("as the crow flies") and displayed in yards/miles or meters/kilometers.
Place and hold two fingers on the map with Two-Finger Distance Measure enabled in your app settings to quickly measure distances between two points.
Area Shapes
Drop at least three points to measure an area in acres or square kilometers (km²), depending on which unit of measurement you've selected.
Choose between Imperial or Metric units of measurement from your app settings.
