How to use 3D mode and Elevation Exaggeration
3D Mode currently requires internet connectivity and is unavailable Offline.
3D Mode
3D mode allows you to view a three-dimensional map of any given area in the Hunt App and can be a useful tool for visualizing the geographic features of a given area during your pre-trip planning process.
To enter 3D mode, tap the Basemaps button ( ) and tap "3D Map."
Your viewing angle will change from a top-down, 2D view to a 3D perspective.
To adjust the viewing angle, place two fingers on your screen and move them up or down at the same time.
Elevation Exaggeration
Even in 3D Mode, some terrain features can be subtle. Elevation Exaggeration helps you see the fine details—like bedding areas, water sources, or feeding zones.
To use Elevation Exaggeration, enter 3D Mode from the Basemap menu, exit the menu, tap the "Elev. +" button, and drag the slider to your desired level of exaggeration.
Using Elevation Exaggeration from the Web Map:
Open the Basemaps menu, enter 3D mode, and drag the slider button to the right or left.
How to view Recent or Leaf-Off Imagery
Recent and Leaf-Off Imagery are currently unavailable Offline
Recent Imagery allows you to gauge conditions related to visible snowpack, snowmelt, heavy deforestation, wildfires, significant water sources, etc. by providing medium-resolution imagery captured at a bi-weekly interval, typically available from two weeks prior back to March of 2023.
Recent imagery is turned off by default. To turn it on, open the Basemaps menu and tap the related toggle button.
To view imagery from previous weeks, tap the appropriate arrow on the date range to scroll back and forth through available imagery sets.
Recent Imagery is captured at a lower resolution than the default imagery and weather conditions such as cloud or heavy fog cover may be present. If your view of an area is obscured, you'll need to choose a newer or older two-week increment as applicable.
Leaf-Off Imagery, available for select states, shows what the landscape looks like after trees and shrubs shed their leaves during autumn and winter months.
To access it, tap the related toggle button from your Basemaps menu—if Leaf-Off Imagery is available for your area, it'll be displayed instead of the default imagery.
If Leaf-Off imagery isn't available for the area you're viewing, an overlay stating that it's unavailable is displayed.
