onX Navigation allows you to get turn-by-turn directions to a specific location in the Hunt App.
You can also use a third-party navigation App like Apple or Google Maps.
How to use onX Navigation
Similar to other navigational Apps (Apple or Google Maps), onX Navigation will route you as close to your selected destination as possible using full-width motorized roads and trails.
In some cases, this may mean the generated route doesn't reach the exact location due to insufficient data.
How to get turn-by-turn directions with onX Navigation
- Tap on a Markup on your map or from My Content.
- Swipe left on the bottom options and tap Driving Directions.
- Select onX Navigation.
- Tap Go to generate turn-by-turn directions.
While your generated route is active, you can take the following actions with onX Navigation:
-
Turn voice guidance on or off.
-
Choose between North-up, tilted perspective, or top-down following orientations.
-
Mark your current location with a Waypoint.
Tip: if you have issues generating directions to a Route or other Markup, try using a Waypoint instead.
Offline vs. Online Use
Online, in-service:
If you start navigation while connected to the internet and later lose service, onX Navigation will continue guiding you to your destination.
- If you miss a turn, onX Navigation will automatically reroute to keep you on course.
Offline, out-of-service:
onX Navigation can’t generate directions without an internet connection.
- If you go off route while offline, rerouting won’t be possible, and you’ll be prompted to return to the original route.
