Government Lands and Easements

The Government Lands layer shows property owned or managed by government agencies—including the US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Tribal Governments, and others. Each state folder has its own Government Lands layer.

Government Lands legend

Government lands appear as color-shaded areas on your map, with the managing agency's name shown inside the area. Learn how to identify map features without a legend.

Symbol	Meaning
	Green — National Forest.
	Bright green — US Fish and Wildlife.
	Green/cyan — State Forest.
	Cyan — State Fish and Wildlife.
	Blue — State Park.
	Yellow — Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
	Orange — Tribal Government.
	Purple — National Park Service.
	Pink — Department of Defense.

Easements

Use of a right-of-way or access easement is for passage only—any other use is considered trespassing. This data is based on third-party information which may change at any time. It's your responsibility to complete appropriate due diligence before accessing any easement.

Easements look like normal roads but are bordered by yellow lines with a green crosshatch pattern.
