Upgrading, Downgrading, or Renewing your Membership

If you want to upgrade, downgrade, or renew your onX Hunt Membership, start by confirming how you originally purchased it—upgrading through the correct channel ensures you get prorated credit for unused time. Make sure to use the same email address throughout the process to keep your saved Markups linked to the correct account.

Find your purchase method

Your Membership may be billed through onxmaps.com, Apple, or Google, depending on how you originally subscribed. To check, log in to your account info page and check the Payment Method field.

Note: If your Payment Method shows Redemption, your Membership was activated with a 16-digit code. There's no way to prorate credit for unused time—you'll need to either let the Membership expire and then upgrade, or upgrade without getting credit for the remaining time.

Upgrading your Membership

Upgrade through the same channel you originally purchased through to receive prorated credit for unused time on your current Membership.

Through onXmaps.com:

  1. Go to the onX Hunt pricing page and select the Membership you'd like to purchase.
  2. Enter your onX account email during checkout.
  3. Your purchase will be automatically prorated based on the time remaining in your current Membership.
Note: Your renewal date won't change. You'll be charged for the time remaining in your current term at the upgraded rate, minus prorated credit for what you've already paid.

Through Apple (iOS):

  1. Open the Hunt App and tap the Main Menu button.
  2. Tap Go Premium or Go Elite.
  3. Select your desired plan and confirm the purchase.
Note: You'll pay full price and begin a new Membership term. Apple will issue a prorated refund for unused time on your previous Membership within 10 business days.

Through Google (Android):

  1. Open the Hunt App and tap the Main Menu button.
  2. Tap Upgrade.
  3. Select your desired plan and confirm the purchase.
Note: You won't be charged immediately. Google applies a prorated credit from your unused time toward the new plan, and your renewal date shifts accordingly. Once that credit runs out, you'll be charged full price for a new Membership term.

Downgrading your Membership

You can't downgrade your Membership mid-term. To move to a lower tier, cancel your current Membership, let it expire, then resubscribe at the lower level. Your saved Markups will remain on your account even as a Basic (free) user—nothing is lost. Learn how to cancel your Membership.

Renewing your Membership

To renew, log in to the Hunt App or Web Map with your onX account email and password and follow the prompts to purchase a Membership. Make sure to use the same email address your content is saved to—all your Waypoints, Tracks, Routes, and other Markups are tied to the account you were signed in to when you created them.

  • If you're told your email is already in use, tap Already have an account? Log in instead.
  • If your login isn't working, check for typos or tap Forgot password? to recover it.
