onX Hunt uses your mobile device’s built-in GPS and digital compass to determine where you are and which way you’re facing.
- The GPS chip pinpoints your current location using satellite signals, even when offline.
- The compass relies on three magnetic field sensors that detect magnetic North. These sensors work together to orient the map and show your heading.
Your location in the Web Map is approximated based on internet activity hubs in your area, not your real-time location.
