The Settings menu lets you adjust how the onX Hunt App and Web Map look and function. To access Settings on your mobile device, tap the Main Menu button and tap Settings. On the Web Map, click My Account & Settings from the left toolbar and choose Settings.
Notifications
- Allow Push Notifications: allows onX to send you alerts about feature releases, promotions, and more.
Units and coordinates
- Units: switch between Imperial (yards and miles) and Metric (meters and kilometers).
- Coordinates: choose between Decimal, UTM, DMS, and DDM coordinate systems.
- Hide Coordinates: displays GPS coordinates on info cards as 0.0, -0.0.
Note: Military Grid Reference System (MGRS) coordinates aren't available in any onX App.
Map settings
- Show Crosshairs: displays a crosshair at the center of the map.
- Enable 2D Map Tilt: allows you to slide two fingers up or down to adjust your viewing angle in 2D mode.
- Enable Two-Finger Distance Measure: measures the distance between two fingers held on the map.
- Lock North Up in 2D: locks the map into a north-up orientation in 2D mode.
- Hide Scalebar When Inactive: hides the scale bar in the upper-left corner after a few seconds of inactivity.
- Keep Screen Always On: prevents the screen from turning off automatically.
- Show Terrain Exaggeration Control in 3D: displays a slider to adjust elevation exaggeration in 3D mode.
Waypoint settings
- Show Custom Waypoint Names: displays custom Waypoint names on the map.
- Enable Clustering of Waypoints: groups nearby Waypoints into visual clusters at lower zoom levels. Zoom in to see individual Waypoints.
Offline Map settings
- Show Offline Map Outlines: displays the borders of saved Offline Maps on the map.
Note: A green border means the Offline Map is downloaded and ready to use. A red and white striped border means it hasn't been downloaded yet.
Photo settings (iOS only)
- Use Cellular for Photos: allows the App to use mobile data to sync photos between devices instead of waiting for a Wi-Fi connection. Enabling this may incur data charges from your carrier.
App Tools (iOS only)
- Clear Map Cache: clears cached map data to reduce disk usage or fix display issues. This doesn't affect downloaded Offline Maps.
- Log Viewer: displays the App's background activity log.
