Your onX Hunt Chip's version number corresponds to the year it was made or last updated. Use the steps below to check which version is installed on your chip.
How to check the version using your GPS
- Plug your onX Hunt Chip into your GPS and turn the device on. Learn how to install your onX Hunt Chip in your GPS.
- Navigate to the Map Information or Configure Maps menu. Consult your GPS owner's manual for instructions on finding these menus.
- Your chip, state, and version will be listed on this screen. It will look like: HUNT_MTv19.2
- HUNT — indicates the chip is an onX Hunt product.
- MT — the state included on your chip.
- 19.2 — the current version of your chip.
How to check the version using your computer
- Plug your onX Hunt Chip into your computer. Learn how to install the onX Hunt Chip on your computer.
- Launch Garmin BaseCamp. Download BaseCamp for free.
- Your chip, state, and version will be listed on the left side of the screen under Devices. It will look like: HUNT_MTv19.2
- HUNT — indicates the chip is an onX Hunt product.
- MT — the state included on your chip.
- 19.2 — the current version of your chip.
