If the onX Hunt App is running slowly or crashing, having too many Markups displayed on the map is a common cause. Waypoints, Lines, Shapes, Routes, and Tracks all use your device's processing power—Tracks in particular, since each one is a series of connected points. This article covers a few ways to reduce the load on your mobile device.
Delete Markups you no longer need
If there are Markups you don't need anymore, deleting them from your account is the most effective way to improve performance.
- Open the My Content menu.
- Tap Select at the top of the menu.
- Tap the checkboxes next to the Markups you want to delete, then tap Delete.

If you want to keep a set of Markups but don't need them in the App right now, export them as a GPX or KML file and delete them from your account. You can re-import them later when you need them.

Hide Markups you aren't actively using
If you have a large number of Markups but don't want to delete them, hiding them removes them from the map without permanently deleting them from your account.
Open the My Content menu, tap the ellipsis next to any Markup or category, and select Hide. Hidden Markups stay saved to your account and can be unhidden at any time.

Turn off Map Layers you aren't using
Map Layers contain a lot of data and can consume significant processing power when multiple layers are active at once. Turn off any unnecessary layers from the Map Layers menu to improve App performance.

Close backgrounded apps
Other apps running in the background compete for your device's available memory, which can slow down the onX Hunt App or cause it to crash. If you're experiencing performance issues, try closing any apps you aren't actively using and then reopen the onX Hunt App.
